Baa Atoll is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and reefs, island life and marine conservation run through the whole stay. Landaa's Marine Discovery Centre adds coral restoration, turtle work and guided reef sessions to your beach and spa time. With one island base, you fly in by seaplane once and settle into an easy rhythm.

Typical conditions
October is warm and humid as the southwest monsoon eases. Showers, wind and rough seas can cancel time on the water.

Plan for 8-10 nights. That allows for international flights and seaplane connections, with reef and island days to fall back on if Hanifaru is closed or the mantas don't show.

  • Seaplanes fly only in daylight. If your flights don't connect, plan a night in Malé.

  • Hanifaru is snorkel only: no scuba, no swimming off alone, and no touching, feeding, chasing or crowding wildlife
