Slane Castle's grounds slope down to the River Boyne in a natural bowl that has hosted only a few dozen concerts since 1981, U2, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Queen and Metallica among them, often with years of silence in between. Luke Combs plays July 18 and 19, 2026, the first Slane show since Harry Styles in 2023, and the castle has not said who, if anyone, plays next. Slane does not host a concert most years, so there is no standing seasonal advice, only this: when a show is announced, tickets move fast (U2's 2001 dates sold out in 45 minutes), and most of the roughly 80,000-strong crowd makes the 45-minute run from Dublin as a day trip rather than staying over.
