Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Trailwind Labs LLC, the company that operates Trailwind (“we”, “us”), collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Trailwind, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect: (a) account information, your email address and authentication details when you sign up; (b) content you create, trips, saved places, notes, and preferences; (c) usage information, how you interact with the Service, collected through product analytics; and (d) device and log data, such as browser type, approximate location derived from your IP, and timestamps. We do not collect precise device GPS in this release.
2. How we use information
We use your information to provide and personalize the Service (such as saving your trips and surfacing relevant adventures), to operate features like alerts you opt into, to improve and secure the Service, and to communicate with you about your account.
3. Service providers and third parties
We share limited information with vendors who help us run the Service, under their own terms and privacy commitments. These include, among others: Supabase (hosting, database, authentication), Mapbox (maps), Foursquare (place data), Stripe (payment processing for Trailwind Pro), a product-analytics provider, an email provider (for account and opt-in messages), and affiliate networks (for booking links). If you purchase a subscription, Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number. We do not sell your personal information. We do not transfer authentication or user data to ad networks or data brokers.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep account information while your account is active. You can delete your Trailwind account from the Account screen in the app or website; the same instructions remain available at trailwind.io/account-deletion. Deletion removes your authentication account and account-linked content, and requires you to cancel an active Trailwind subscription before deletion can finish. Device-only drafts and cached files stay on a device until you clear or remove the app. Limited security, tax, transaction, fraud-prevention and de-identified operational evidence may be retained when law or a legitimate business need requires it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@trailwind.io.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. International users
We operate in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries with different data-protection laws.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the date above and, where appropriate, a notice in the Service.
