Best time to visit Las Vegas: Mar–Apr & Oct–Nov. The Strip, residencies and Cirque du Soleil, and a desert that turns into a different city after midnight.
Las Vegas runs on spectacle: the Strip's mega-resorts each try to out-do the last with fountains, volcanoes, and a density of headline residencies unmatched anywhere else. It's easy to never leave the casino floor, but the desert around it is worth the detour: Red Rock Canyon's scenic loop and the Hoover Dam are both close enough for a half-day trip. The city is genuinely built for a 24-hour clock; restaurants, shows, and pool parties run on their own schedule regardless of what time zone you flew in from.
The sweet spot is Mar–Apr & Oct–Nov. Plan around it and you will catch Las Vegas close to its best.
