Best time to visit Warsaw: May–Jun & Sep. A meticulously rebuilt Old Town, deep WWII history, and one of Central Europe's most underrated food scenes.
Warsaw's Old Town is one of Europe's great acts of civic will: after being almost entirely leveled in WWII, it was rebuilt from photographs and paintings to look exactly as it did before, brick by brick, and the reconstruction itself earned the district a UNESCO listing. The Warsaw Rising Museum tells that war's local chapter in unflinching detail and is essential context for the rest of the city. Beyond the history, Warsaw has become one of Central Europe's more dynamic capitals, with a skyline of new towers rising around the Soviet-era Palace of Culture and a food scene (milk bars for cheap traditional plates, a fast-growing fine-dining scene above them) that outperforms its reputation.
The sweet spot is May–Jun & Sep. Plan around it and you will catch Warsaw close to its best.
