Florida Mountains Wilderness Study Area is a designated wilderness area in New Mexico, managed by the Bureau of Land Management.About Florida Mountains Wilderness Study Area The Florida Mountains WSA is located in southern New Mexico about 10 miles southeast of Demming. The Florida Mountains are an isolated, rocky, north-south trending range with steep canyons and vertical cliffs. Alluvial fans slope toward the valley floors on all sides of the mountain range.
